Q. Where did the name Nellie and Co. come from?
A. I own a ornament in the shape of an elephant. I was gifted this ornament many years ago because I was referred to as a mini elephant whenever I wandered down the stairs, and because I was young, naive and a little childish, I named this ornament Nellie, after the song, Nellie and the Elephant, most commonly known and used previously by people well practised in CPR. Nellie and Co. along with it's logo, have a playful and childlike sound and feel - a nod to my childhood referral, but is also gentle, calming and protective much like it's animal counterpart, which is reflected in my easy on the eye, and comforting grey-scale design.
Q. You're blog doesn't look like a Blogger blog. Why?
A. I've been blogging for over two years, designing Blogger blogs, both for myself and for friends who blog for almost a year and within that time, I've taught myself a lot about general HTML and CSS, design tricks and how to make and create what I want, where I want, how I want it. It takes time and dedication, but with Blogger's easily customisable platform, it's easy when you know how. I regularly share my insiders knowledge on Nellie and Co. so do check out my Design Archive for more information.
Q. Do you offer design work, or just free tutorials?
A. Currently, I do not offer actual design work, but focus my time on sharing the tips and tricks of Blogger design I know, to everyone, completely free. That's not to say I won't in the future, but as of right now, it's not something I'm considering. I do and will however offer free advice as and when I have the time available, so if you'd like me to check out your blog and help you improve (should you need to) your look, functionality and style, then feel free to contact me.
